Planning!

Hey there! My group and I have started the planning process for how we are going to film our short film.

Schedule-
Days to Film: Saturday 2/3, Saturday 2/10, Saturday 2/17 (if necessary)
Times to film on each Saturday 11:30 am to 4:00
The dates are Saturdays that we should all be open and able to film on during hours where the sun is up, since all of our scenes are in daylight.
If we finish filming on schedule there would be almost a month (2/18-3/15) for us to edit and make any changes or re-film.

Location-
Lola's House/Street to film during the day scenes of main character at home and the car accident.
Galleria Mall to film main character going throughout their day
Lola's Room to film hospital scenes

Participants-
Samantha Price, Lola Mackie, Jack Lynch, Tanner Martin, Macy Martin, Nate, Eva
These are all participants who will help with filming; they will each wither hold the camera and assist in that way, or play characters on screen.

Health and Safety: To keep our group safe we will make sure all safety pro cautions are taken in any and all filming locations. This means we will avoiding any possibly dangerous areas that we could get hurt, avoid interacting with strangers we may encounter in public and being aware of our surroundings at all costs. On our way to and from locations we will drive safely, following all traffic laws like wearing a seatbelt and going the speed limit. All driving scenes will also be done in a neighborhood on a vacant street to avoid accidents.

Props-
As our movie is a drama about a boy who thinks he gets into a minor crash but it turns out to be a lot worse we will need a lot of props to follow suit. For example, medical like equipment and a hospital bed setup will be needed. Also, any props that may be found in an average life such as a backpack or coffee cups. For any crash scene we may need debris around the car to make it look like a car crash had really occurred as well. Overall, our props other than medical equipment should be pretty easy to acquire and can all stay pretty simple.

Costumes: We chose to keep costumes as simple as possible. Since the drama takes place during the time of an average boys life no crazy costumes are needed. Clothing like hoodies and sweatpants are ideal as they keep it realistic while also adding to the setting. The only costume we may use that would be less basic and need more planning would be at the very end of the film where we may have someone dressed as a doctor and the main character dress as a patient.

Backup plan-
If somehow our initial filming locations go wrong we can always film at Jack Lynch’s house for the hospital scene and a restaurant or public area to film the scenes that would fill in for the actors normal day. These places work just as good as my house or the mall as it has the same set up and atmospheres we need for that scene. Jacks house is Also another house that is in the middle of all the participating actors so it more convenient than going somewhere too far. This limits the risk of one of our group member not being able to make it to a film day.
