Getting the Ball Rolling

 Hey there! We're finally here in my favorite part of this project, the filming! My group and I can't wait to get to filming and editing but there are some things that need to be taken care of first. To start, we have to get the props needed to start filming next week. In my group Jack will get the medical props like a stethoscope and any other medical paraphernalia he can find for the hospital scenes. Lola and I will both bring our cars so we can film a car crash, and Lola will bring anything else that will make an area look like a car crash. I will then also bring any sort of everyday items we will need. This will be things like coffee cups and shopping bags for the mall scenes. I know Lola has prepared her props so now Jack and I just have to be prepared before next week. We are planning to film next Monday on President's day since we have no school. Comparing La Jetee, the short, and 12 monkeys, the full-length movie

After watching the video, La Jetee (1962) vs 12 Monkeys (1995), I am able to compare this short film and full length movie. This video details not only the difference in plot and story told by each film, but also the intent and execution which has a large effect on audience. I learned about how even though La Jetee was only audio and still photos the unique story inspired many people and works since it was created in 1962 and is very comparable to 12 monkeys and has stood the test of time. The immense ability to story tell and evoke emotions in the audience qualifies it for many as a short film or, un photo-roman and not a simple slideshow of pictures. Chris Marker was able to tell an incredible story about memory and the passage of time in a short 28 minutes, while 12 monkeys tells a similar story with a full length movie, this however does not mean that 12 monkeys is a better film. A Day at the Mall!

 Hey there! I'm happy to report that my group and I have finally started filming. We got together over the weekend and got some filming done. We met up at the Galleria mall to film the mall scenes. This was a good start for us so we could get into the groove of filming. The people who came ended up being me, Lola, Jack, and our friends Nate and Tanner. We all got together at the food court to decide the shops we wanted to film in. The first place we went was Pacsun. We had to talk to the workers at all of the stores to make sure it was okay that we were filming. I was behind the camera while Lola, Nate, Jack, and Tanner acted as a friend group shopping at the store. I gave them directions and made sure we had the right angles to portray our story. Next we went to the Apple store and did a similar process of filming. We repeated this process with two more stores to make sure we had a good amount of takes to use.
