Filming Blog: We did it!

We finished filming all the shots for our commercial. There were a few bumps along the way but we successfully finished and we have enough time to edit. The day started off at lacrosse practice with our whole team, we chose to film after practice so we could ask anyone we needed to fill in for missing actors. We didn't have time to get Celsius to use in the commercial so Noura and I had to walk to a nearby Walgreens and get some. However, the Walgreens that we went to had no Celsius in stock. This meant we had to walk much further, to a Publix that we could buy them from. We almost got lost walking back and in total it took about 40 minutes. When we finally got back to the field where we planned to film, there were only two people left that we could film with and we were behind schedule. We also needed to use the lacrosse goal in our video, which they had put away while preparing to leave so we had to bring it back out. The two people still there were Jessica, one of the original actors, and Reagan. Reagan is another player on the team that was willing to be in the commercial, which we are very grateful for. We got right into filming because Reagan didn't have much time before she had to leave. We started filming in the parking lot with Jessica and then moved to the field with Reagan. Noura did most of the actual filming while I helped with directing the actors and adding new ideas and my opinion on the filming process. I was also the one that was making sure we used a variety of different camera movements and techniques. We had to do some things a little bit differently than we had planned on our storyboard. It all worked out though and I like the final shots even better than the planned ones. We had to change some things mostly because of time constraints and realizing how short 30 seconds is for all of the content we planned to film. We finished quickly and could not shoot very many takes because Reagan had to leave. It all worked out in the end though. Now onto editing!!
