Such Busy Schedules!

 This week, Macy came back. This means we can finally get our filming started, yay! Well, we can if our schedules all line up this weekend. We thought about filming during the week but it is the middle of lacrosse season right now and Noura and I are on the team. This means that we have practice after school everyday and two games a week. Macy isn't in lacrosse but she plays instruments. This means, she has band rehearsal very often after school. This leaves only weekends free, and we are all usually busy so finding time to film has been a challenge. We decide to start planning now so that it works out and we can have a set date on our calendars. After going over our plans for this upcoming weekend we decided that we were all going to be very busy. My family is out of town until Sunday, but Macy is going to the Renaissance Festival on Sunday so Saturday is the only day that will work. This means that I need to find transportation that I wouldn't usually use, but it is worth it. Saturday morning is our only available time that works for everyone. We plan to at least get some of the filming done during this time. Even though it won't be enough time and it will be light outside, which doesn't work for some of our scenes.

Now we just have to ask some of our other friends if they are free and can be featured in our film. We also need to purchase any items that will be needed and think about costumes to wear. Me and Noura will go to the store on Friday and buy the microwave popcorn needed, along with anything else we think of. For costumes, we think casual outfits or maybe even pajamas because it is a sleepover scene. Considering all of this, it is going to be a busy weekend.

Our main character, Jack, is a gay man with the film featuring him and his boyfriend. Our film however does not entirely focus on Jack’s sexuality, I believe this even more strongly represents the social group of the Lgbtq community because it helps reduce stigma and normalize seeing gay couples on the big screen. With the story being largely similar as to what it would be if Jack had a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend it brings awareness to the true normalcy of Lgbtq couples and the struggles they experience similar to everyone else. This detail of Jack being gay is not in the focus so much so that this detail is not featured anywhere in the postcard or website. Let's Wrap It Up

 Onto the final day of filming! Yay we're reaching the end. The only scenes we had left to film were the house scenes and the hospital scene. We decided to do these both at Lola's house. We all met up at her house after school yesterday to get everything done. The only people in the scenes we were filming were Jack and one of his friends, played by Nate. We started out with the house scenes, for this we used Lola's front room. We also asked Lola's parents to participate in playing Jack's parents in the film. They said yes and we got her house a little bit tidied before starting. We quickly shot the parent scenes and moved upstairs for the room scenes. For this we had to make dizzying effects on the camera to show Jack passing out. We did this by slightly shaking the camera and rotating it in a circle. Short Film Research: A Woman of No Importance

 Hey there! Another short film I researched was A Women of No Importance. This film was about an undocumented single mother who has has a hard life and finally takes control of it. Her store manager overworks her and blackmails her until she is able to blackmail him back. This short film is only seven minutes long however it tells a very real and dramatic story incorporating many common things found it drama films. The film sparks so many emotions starting from sad to mad and to proud while also leaving an uneasy feeling at the end. Many dramas end in a way you don’t want or expect them to as this short film did. In this film unlike the others I researched had much less dialogue and more digestive sound such a car noises and people.
