Preparing to film
I woke up early on the Monday of my thanksgiving break and waited for Noura to pick me up and take us to Macy's house to film. I made sure to pack a bag with supplies I might need through the day, I checked that I had my phone incase we needed to film with it and at the last minute I remembered that we hadn't decided who would be the monster in our film. When I remembered this I realized I could be the one that plays it so I would have to wear a costume for it. I thought about what the costume would be and decided on an all black outfit. After texting Noura and Macy and asking if they agreed, I then had to choose if I wanted to change into the costume or not. I decided to just bring it in my back incase I'm not the monster.
Once Noura and I got to Macy's house we all greeted each other and sat down to go over the plan for the day. We realized we didn't have a mask to use, which is a very important part of the plot. We searched in Macy's house for something that could work because we had no way to get to a store to buy one. We found a couple of options like a pirate costume mask, a zombie mask, or a hat with a veil. However, none of these were ideal. The pirate mask didn't cover the whole face and was too characterized. The zombie mask was similarly too characterized because we were going for more of an ominous feeling than a scary one. The hat with the veil was ominous but we thought it was too bulky. We ended up finding a black beanie that we could pull down like a ski mask with no eye holes and cover our face.
With all of these problems figured out we were almost ready to film. Macy is our main character so she changed into her costume for the first scene while Noura and I decided whose phone to film with and what part of the song we are using. We chose the beginning of the song and Macy's phone because it had the best camera. We also found a tripod that Macy had that would aid in stability and intentional movement. It could also help us get the camera high into the air if we ever needed. Once all of that was done, it was finally time to film!
