Group Blog: Introductions

 My group is me and two of my classmates, Noura Attah and Macy Martin. This is a different group than I worked with for my commercial. Noura was in my previous group, Macy was not. Our class is large and Noura and I didn't even realize Macy was in it, but when we realized we invited her to be on our group. I think we will work well together and have fun at the same time. Noura and I did a good job on the commercial so I am confident it will go well again. I have also had success working with Noura on many other projects, in many other classes. I have never done projects with Macy, but she seems like a hard worker and reliable partner. Noura and Macy are both good friends of mine and are academically achieved. We are all fans of Olivia Rodrigo, whose song we are using for the music video. We all even plan on attending her concert when she comes to Florida in April! This fact will make it a more fun project for all of us. We have chosen the song "brutal" by Olivia Rodrigo, it is fun and up-beat with a storyline we can follow. We have talked briefly about our plans to film and I think they will go well. 

    I believe this group will be efficient and that we will satisfy the requirements of the project accordingly. I also believe that with Noura and Macy, I will enjoy completing this project even more than I might've before.  Overall, I am happy with the group I have chosen and excited to get started.. I believe that three people is more than enough for this project to be successful. I am confident that we will benefit and learn from this project, as well as using it as a way to prepare for the final task we must complete later this year. I cannot wait until we can really get into completing the music video to one of my favorite songs.

Link:  CR Google Doc How do your products represent social groups or issues? A social group or issue represented in my products is the Lgbtq community. Our main character, Jack, is a gay man with the film featuring him and his boyfriend. Our film however does not entirely focus on Jack’s sexuality, I believe this even more strongly represents the social group of the Lgbtq community because it helps reduce stigma and normalize seeing gay couples on the big screen. With the story being largely similar as to what it would be if Jack had a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend it brings awareness to the true normalcy of Lgbtq couples and the struggles they experience similar to everyone else. This detail of Jack being gay is not in the focus so much so that this detail is not featured anywhere in the postcard or website. Let's Wrap It Up

 Onto the final day of filming! Yay we're reaching the end. The only scenes we had left to film were the house scenes and the hospital scene. We decided to do these both at Lola's house. We all met up at her house after school yesterday to get everything done. The only people in the scenes we were filming were Jack and one of his friends, played by Nate. We started out with the house scenes, for this we used Lola's front room. We also asked Lola's parents to participate in playing Jack's parents in the film. They said yes and we got her house a little bit tidied before starting. We quickly shot the parent scenes and moved upstairs for the room scenes. For this we had to make dizzying effects on the camera to show Jack passing out. We did this by slightly shaking the camera and rotating it in a circle. Short Film Research: A Woman of No Importance

 Hey there! Another short film I researched was A Women of No Importance. This film was about an undocumented single mother who has has a hard life and finally takes control of it. Her store manager overworks her and blackmails her until she is able to blackmail him back. This short film is only seven minutes long however it tells a very real and dramatic story incorporating many common things found it drama films. The film sparks so many emotions starting from sad to mad and to proud while also leaving an uneasy feeling at the end. Many dramas end in a way you don’t want or expect them to as this short film did. In this film unlike the others I researched had much less dialogue and more digestive sound such a car noises and people.
